David Rappaport is an electrical engineer with the Microsoft Applied Sciences Group (ASG), where he develops hardware and software to help create the next generation of human-computer interaction technologies.

Before joining ASG, he completed two internships with Microsoft, during which time he contributed to the development of accessories for Surface products.  He also interned with National Instruments, where he worked on motion-control applications, and with Webscan, where he developed embedded systems for barcode verification.

David is passionate about developing technology that can help to empower people, and he was recently excited to lead the development of a novel assistive hardware technology for children with disabilities.  He has also enjoyed working on side projects exploring unusual technology-driven experiences.

He received his B.S. degree in electrical and computer engineering in 2016 from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and he is currently pursuing an M.S. in human-centered design engineering at the University of Washington.

Outside of work, David enjoys cooking, hiking, travelling, and mentoring his local high school robotics team.
