Lindsey Jacobellis is a Boardercross Olympic medalist and a three-time World Cup champion. In 2012, Lindsey was one of the most decorated female snowboarders in X Games history, but that all came to a sudden end after a devastating crash in Buttermilk, Colorado. Unable to compete and with her career on the line, Lindsey turned to the top doctors at the University of Colorado to repair her ACL and rescue her Boardercross career. Meanwhile, Paul Richardson, star wide receiver for the Colorado Buffs, also faces a season ending ACL tear. Widely believed to be a top pick in the NFL draft, Paul’s injury places both his junior year and entire football career in jeopardy. We’ll follow Paul as he weighs his surgical options and sets out on the most difficult journey of his career. We’ll also track Lindsey as she attempts to overcome her injury, get back on the slopes and compete for her next world championship.

Gerald McCoy is a defensive tackle for the Tampa Bay buccaneers. As a first round pick in the NFL draft, Gerald’s game-changing speed and strength instantly made him one of the top players in the league. But in his rookie year, Gerald suffered a bicep tear that put him on the sidelines and severely jeopardized his bright future. Meanwhile, Colorado University rower Jenna Kaempfer also underwent a painful bicep tear. With her season fast approaching, Jenna turned to surgical treatment to repair her torn bicep and attempt to return to rowing. Throughout her career, five-time WNBA all-star Swin Cash was one of the most dominant players in the game. Her versatile skillset and competitive nature led her to three championships and two gold medals with the US Olympic team. After receiving an MRI, Swin was diagnosed with cancer in her kidneys as well as a disc herniation in her spine. So, when Western State Colorado basketball player James Willis injured his spine, he played for an entire season to allow his body to mature before seeking surgical treatment. Now in too much pain to continue playing, James turns to the most cutting-edge medical technology available today to see if he can save his basketball career.

Brandon Marshall is a professional football player, 6-time pro bowler & 2011 pro bowl MVP. Widely considered one of the most dominant Wide Receivers in the league, Brandon’s career was sidelined by a series if misdiagnosed hip injuries. After meeting with Dr. Omer Mei-Dan, and the team at the University of Colorado, Brandon learned the true nature of his injury, FAI, and the options to treat it. Meanwhile, another athlete, Colorado University basketball player Geoffrey Bates, is facing the same hip-related injury. Unable to lead his team, Geoffrey hopes that surgical repair of his FAI will allow him to return to the court and play once again at full strength.

The Achilles tendon is the thickest and strongest tendon in the body. Requiring nearly a year of rehab, and a high uncertainty of returning to full strength, an Achilles tear is one of the most devastating injuries an athlete can face. So, when Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs and University of Denver Lacrosse player Jamie Faus both suffered this season ending injury, their future careers were in jeopardy. Both players sought treatment at the University of Colorado, Boulder to treat their Achilles tear. We’ll watch the actual Achilles surgery and track their grueling, dramatic rehab as they attempt to return back to the field and dominate their sports.

Acute ankle injuries are one of the most common musculoskeletal injuries, accounting for an estimated 2 million injuries per year and 20 percent of all sports injuries in the United States. Professional base jumper Jeb Corliss fell victim to a devastating ankle fracture on a jump that went horribly wrong and nearly cost him his life. With his ankle split in two, Jeb was forced to seek immediate medical treatment in hopes he would ever be able to jump again. Tracy ‘Disco’ Akers is a roller derby captain for team USA. A fierce competitor, Tracy fractured her ankle in a qualifying game disabling her from competing with her squad. With the championships only a few months away, Tracy turns to surgical treatment and rehab to repair her ankle and get back on the rink. Will both Tracy and Jeb be able to successfully return to full strength and continue their professional careers?

The shoulder is the most mobile joint in the human body, causing sports players with overhead motions to be especially susceptible to shoulder injuries. One such athlete is Hope Solo, goalkeeper for the United States Women’s soccer team. With the 2011 World Cup only ten months away, Hope was forced to step away from the field after injuring her shoulder in practice. With surgery as her only option, Hope began her fight against time to return to the field and compete in Germany. While making a violent tackle on the football field, Colorado University defensive tackle Juda Parker also dislocated his shoulder. Unable to play, Juda assesses his surgical options and learns if he will ever be able to return to full strength. With the World Cup coming up and the college football season in full swing, will Hope and Juda be able to return to the field and once again compete for the teams?
