Karthik Vijayan
Principal Applied Scientist
Karthik Vijayan is a software engineer in the Applied Sciences Group (ASG) at Microsoft.
Before joining Microsoft, he worked for Intel in the U.K. and before that for several firms in Bangalore, India, including Tata Elxsi, Nvidia, and a small startup. His focus is on pixel processing, and he has worked on video formats (including MPEG-2 and H.264), codecs, and compression. His work has also included work on autonomous driving and deep learning.
Karthik describes himself as a big movie buff and when he’s not working he also enjoys pub quizzes.
