Microsoft and Dicker Data – partnering to support nonprofits

Microsoft is committed to helping the world’s nonprofits innovate and transform, supporting them to have a greater impact on the world’s most critical social issues.

We are so proud of our partnership with technology distributor Dicker Data in an initiative that will see them train and enable our extensive partner network to use their skills to support the non-profit sector.

The work of Dicker Data, which operates across Australia and New Zealand, brings our Tech for Social Impact mission – to empower every nonprofit and international development organisation with Microsoft technology to accelerate social impact – to life.

They’ll do this by helping partners utilise Microsoft technology solutions to accelerate the work nonprofits are doing, unlock the full value of the nonprofit ecosystem, and build stronger environmental and social initiatives for their businesses.

A longstanding focus on doing good

Supporting nonprofits is not just something we do at Microsoft, it is a part of who we are. Microsoft has been engaged with charities since 1983 with the inception of its ‘employee giving campaign’. But our work has only just begun.

This ground-breaking offering was inspired in part by the Microsoft ANZ Partner for Purpose program, launched in February 2023. Partner for Purpose provides the Microsoft ANZ partner ecosystem with resources, stories and fresh insights to support your purpose-driven goals.

As Vanessa Sorenson, our ANZ Chief Partner Officer says, it’s all about being inspired by each other, and learning from each other.

A partnership to help you walk the walk

This sort of initiative doesn’t just talk the talk – it walks the walk.

Microsoft’s Tech for Social Impact program supported over 300,000 non-profit organisations across the world in 2022 and Satya Nadella, our CEO, has made it our goal to double that number in the next five years. The work Dicker Data will do to help our partners support nonprofits to transform their operations, accelerate their social impact and make a positive difference to individuals and communities is a significant step towards that goal.

The benefit of doing good

The demands on nonprofit organisations are greater today than ever before. As an industry, we can help nonprofits digitally transform to raise funds, improve productivity, accelerate innovation and ultimately have a greater impact on the communities of people they serve – and more time to serve them.

There is no downside to doing good, even during this challenging economic environment. By focusing on the nonprofit sector – which is over 10 million strong1 worldwide – Microsoft partners can drive new revenue streams, and more importantly, help to accelerate the impact of organisations who address the world’s most pressing issues.

How Microsoft partners are leading the way in creating positive impact

Kinetics exemplifies a CSP partner operating within the TSI field. Kinetics believes that strong communities stem from success of the organisations within them, and while TSIs often measure success as social dividends rather than financial, their needs for effective IT solutions are as even more important than commercial businesses. This is why Kinetics takes pride in its collaboration with Dicker Data and, through their Kambium consulting business, actively engages with numerous other CSPs to accomplish remarkable outcomes for nonprofit organizations.

Dicker Data’s mission is to inspire, educate and enable Australian and New Zealand ICT reseller partners to achieve their full potential. Over the past 40 years, Dicker Data has been helping reseller partners of all shapes and sizes to design, configure and implement solutions for their non-profit customers and successfully transition their business’ through technological change. Dicker Data and Microsoft set out to provide relevant, innovative and affordable cloud solutions through discounted and donated solutions specifically designed for non-profits.

If you’re ready to get started, get in touch with Dicker Data to explore what’s possible for your business – we can’t wait to see the impact you’ll have.
