Forging a path

Community has been a huge part of my life as it’s been the most important value that has paved a career path for me to lead. It’s difficult for me to pinpoint where my career started, but the catalyst was receiving a special invitation to an Xbox event when I was 14 years old. I was an active member of the Xbox forums and because of that, was invited to an Xbox event. I was excited to meet familiar faces in the community in person, including my hero at the time, Major Nelson, but I hadn’t anticipated that I may be someone that others would recognize too. I point to this event as the genesis of realizing what I wanted to do, and how I wanted to make an impact in the Xbox and gaming community.

I come from a lifetime of gaming; my dad had a keen interest in technology, and I spent a lot of time navigating innovations within the space. I started gaming young and on different platforms, starting with PC and then moving into console gaming. The gaming community was always inclusive and open. I spent a lot of time talking to peers and sharing interests. I was driven by community building, and this led me to the life that I have now with a professional career in gaming as a content creator and streamer.

I happened to be an early adopter of video game content creation. When my YouTube channel started to take off, I decided to make it my fulltime job in 2012. This wouldn’t have been possible without the culture and community base I had supporting me.

we all belong here, we saw employees develop a renewed sense of belonging to the organization. Our employees were able to interact with each other and new teams in ways that weren’t possible before a hybrid working environment. As a result, we saw a quantitative impact in an employee survey of which 89% of respondents felt engaged in our brand re-imagination journey.
