LOVE CHILD is set in a Sydney boarding house and hospital in the 1960s, where young, unwed mothers are sent to live for the duration of their pregnancy. The series, written by award-winning writer Sarah Lambert, follows maverick midwife Joan Millar (Jessica Marais), who comes from London to work for the hospital during the throes of a cultural revolution. As rock-and-roll blasts through the streets, hemlines rise and social mores undergo radical change, viewers will follow the optimistic and hedonistic beautiful young things who drove the world out of the dark ages and into the psychedelic new frontier, where anything was possible.
