Five Can’t Miss Sessions at London Tech Week

If you haven’t yet registered, time is running out for you to take part the festival of live events across the city, showcasing and celebrating the best of tech whilst providing networking, social, learning and business opportunities. Although there are dozens of sessions for you to consider, across a range of topics, from startups and scale-up, to digital disruption we think these five sessions are can’t miss events. As you may note, these are all Microsoft sessions. We may be just the teensiest bit biased, but they really are quite good.

“Edtech 2020” – Where next for education, skills & learning?

Tuesday 13/6 12-19:30

This half-day symposium, set up by Microsoft and EdTech UK will examine what’s next for education, skills and learning across London & the UK. More specifically, at EdTech 20/20 we will debate and showcase the key trends, strategies and technologies that are going to be driving change in the classroom over the next 3 years. This will be a plenary style event, with with breakouts to network and get hands on with the Surface family, a range of OEM devices and HoloLens. Speakers will include thought leaders and subject matter experts from technology, publishing and education policy. Find out more.

Wednesday 14/6: 9-10am

Mixed Reality delivers new insight for creating, collaborating and bringing products and information to life in 3D
Mixed Reality (MR) creates a brand new holographic category and endless possibilities for how we can improve how people communicate, create, and explore by mixing the physical world and the virtual world together. MR redefines personal computing through holographic experiences by delivering new insight for creating, collaborating and bringing products and information to life in 3D. During this session, we will share inspiring examples of how organizations are already using Microsoft HoloLens to transform their businesses. We will then be joined by Robert Hogg, Managing Director of Black Marble, to share how they are transforming policing scenarios – like crime scene investigations and command and control requirements, in ways previously unimaginable. Wednesday 14/6: 10:30-11:30

During this session, we will share inspiring ways that Microsoft HoloLens is being used today within health care- enabling clinicians, hospitals and businesses, to impact patient care in ways previously unimaginable. We will then be joined by Dr. Navin Ramachandran, London Cancer Regional Lead for Renal Cancer Imaging and Honorary Senior Lecturer at UCL CHIME. Dr. Ramachandran will detail examples of the work that UCL is doing in collaboration with NHS Digital to bridge the gap between research and clinical practice throughout the NHS. Find out more.

On June 14th join Ryan Gavin, Microsoft’s General Manger of Surface Commercial, as he hosts a panel discussion to share research, insights and strategies to understand how leaders can harness the creative potential of their people, and their organisations, to thrive in today’s dynamic environment.
