In the peaceful village of Devil's End the arrival of a sinister new vicar coincides with strange events. A professor is preparing to open a nearby burial mound despite warnings from a local white witch. All too soon the Doctor and UNIT are struggling against demonic forces summoned from the past by worshippers of evil.
