EU Regulation 2021/784 Terrorist Content Regulation (TCR) Transparency Report

The TCR is a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council of the EU addressing of terrorist content online. Microsoft is committed to enabling the swift removal of terrorist content online and to providing insight into actions we’ve taken against Terrorist Content.

EU Regulation 2021/1232

Regulation (EU) 2021/1232 is a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council of the EU on a temporary derogation from certain provisions of Directive 2002/58/EC concerning the use of technologies by providers of number-independent interpersonal communications services for the processing of personal and other data for the purpose of combating online child sexual abuse. In scope electronic communication service providers are required to publish an annual transparency report on the processing of personal data under this regulation. This report provides insight into the use of technologies for the purpose of combating online child sexual abuse in the European Union and reporting such content to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

Bing EU Digital Services Act (DSA) Transparency Report

The DSA is a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council of the EU on a single market for digital services and amending Directive 2000/31/EC. On April 25, 2023, the European Commission designated Bing as a Very Large Online Search Engine under DSA Article 33(4). This report is prepared semi-annually, beginning in October 2023, pursuant to the requirements of the EU Digital Services Act (DSA).

India Monthly Report under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Ethics Code) Rules, 2021

Microsoft publishes monthly transparency reports on complaints received from users in India and the actions taken thereon, as well the number of content actioned in pursuance to proactive monitoring across Microsoft’s services that are classified as “Significant Social Media Intermediaries” (“SSMIs”).
