    This whitepaper describes how to configure the Windows Server 2012 R2 Web Application Proxy as a reverse proxy for Lync Server. The service allows internal applications such as Microsoft Lync and Exchange to be published for external access. The Web Application Proxy service functions as both a reverse proxy and an Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) proxy.
