    A broad security vulnerability has been disclosed that impacts many modern processors. While not specific to SQL Server, Microsoft recommends all SQL Server customers review and take action for their environments. More information about the vulnerability can be found here: SQL Server 2017 RTM
    Supported SQL Server versions impacted are
    SQL Server 2008 (SP4), SQL Server 2008R2 (SP3), SQL Server 2012 (Service Packs 3 and 4), SQL Server 2014 (Service Pack 2), SQL Server 2016 (RTM and Service Pack 1), and SQL Server 2017 (RTM) when running on x86 and x64 processor systems.
    At the current time, the following patched SQL Server security updates are available for download:

    * These security updates are also the regularly scheduled Cumulative Update.
    Download this update to resolve this issue in SQL Server 2017 RTM instances that have not had a Cumulative Update applied. If any cumulative update has been applied, please download SQL Server 2017 CU3*.
