SQL 2008 and 2008 R2 TLS 1.2 updates not available in Windows Catalog

This page contains updates providing TLS 1.2 support for SQL Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008 R2 running on the Titanium platform (IA64). These updates were prioviously only available on the Microsoft Hotfix server which has since been decommissioned.

Note: The IA64 platform for SQL Server only supports SQL Server 2008 SP3 and SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2. These updates will only apply to SQL instances at these SP levels.
SQL 2008 SP3 IA64 Update: CU Version 10.0.5896.0 GDR Version 10.0.5545.0
SQL 2008 R2 SP2 Update: CU Version 10.50.4344.0 GDR Version 10.50.4047.0

Note: When an MSI package is redistributed it must not be renamed, otherwise you may see failures if updates are installed for that package.

For SQL instances that receive Cumulative Updates (CUs):

For SQL Server 2008: Download and execute SQLServer2008-KB3145757-IA64.exe
For SQL Server 2008 R2: Download and execute SQLServer2008R2-KB3145758-IA64.exe

For SQL instances that only receive security updates (GDRs):

For SQL Server 2008: Download and execute SQLServer2008-KB3145755-IA64.exe
For SQL Server 2008 R2: Download and execute SQLServer2008R2-KB3145756-IA64.exe
