To try Bing Chat, sign into Microsoft Edge and select the Bing chat icon in the browser toolbar. Feature availability and functionality may vary by device type, market, and browser version.
Chat in the Edge sidebar has all the search and creative capabilities of Bing Chat and more. In the sidebar, Chat can also perform searches and answers in relation to the page you’re viewing. For example:
· What wine should I pair with this recipe?
· Are these roller skates good for roller derby?
· Compare this coffee maker to {other brand} and put it in a table
· Would this plant thrive in an east-facing window?
· Key takeaways of this report
Just make sure you give it permission by toggling on Page context! Learn more about that below.
Turn on Page context to give Chat permission to reference the content of the webpage when you ask a question. Just go to More options (stacked triple-dots) at the top of your Bing Chat > Notification and App settings, and toggle on Page context. You only need to toggle on Page context once to configure it, but you can turn it off at any time.
Bing Chat is coming very soon to Edge mobile – and like in the sidebar, you will be able to ask questions related to the content you’re viewing online. Stay tuned for more about how to use Bing Chat in your Edge mobile app.
