How to change your browser language

To start browsing in the language you want, follow these steps in your Microsoft Edge browser:

  1. Select the ellipses (...) in the upper-right corner of the window.
  2. Find Settings.
  3. In the left panel, scroll down to select Languages.
  4. In Preferred languages, select Add languages.
  5. Select the language you want in the dropdown menu or find it by typing into the search box. You can add multiple languages to your browser.
  6. Select ... beside your preferred language to set it as default. Your browser will display webpages and menus in your preferred language whenever it's available.
  7. If you need to remove languages that you no longer need, select ... next to the language and choose Remove.
  8. If you’d like Microsoft Edge to translate pages that aren’t available in your preferred language, toggle on Offer to translate pages that aren’t in a language I read in the Languages menu.

Language choices in Microsoft Edge

By following these steps, you’ll have the ability to choose from hundreds of languages within Microsoft Edge. Languages are listed in both the current default language and the language that can be chosen, making them easier to locate for all. Many languages come in regional dialects, such as English, which is available in eight dialects, including English (India) and English (South Africa).
