Ways to earn and spend Microsoft Rewards

If you’re already a loyal Microsoft user, earning and spending points through Microsoft Rewards couldn’t be easier. Learn how these points add up and how you can redeem them for Microsoft products and services.

How to earn Microsoft Rewards points

You can earn Microsoft Rewards points in several easy ways. Sign in with the email associated with your Microsoft Rewards account and watch the points add up as you do any of the following:

  • Browse the web with Microsoft Edge.
  • Search with Microsoft Bing.
  • Make purchases online in the Microsoft Store. using your mobile device, Xbox One, in the Microsoft Store app, or via the web.
  • Launch the Rewards app, play selected games, and complete selected quests on Xbox Live.

You can also collect bonus points through daily activities, trivia, quizzes, and more.

How to redeem Microsoft Rewards points

While earning is simple, redeeming is even easier. Once you’ve collected enough points, products and services will show as eligible rewards on the Microsoft Rewards Redeem page. If you have enough points for the item you want, select Redeem.

You can exchange your Microsoft Rewards points for any of the following:

  • Gift cards
  • Microsoft devices
  • Movies
  • Apps
  • Xbox games
  • Microsoft subscriptions
  • Sweepstakes entries

There’s also the option to donate your earned points to a charity or nonprofit. Whether you’d like to donate to a cause or stockpile points for a shopping spree, it’s up to you.

Tips for redeeming Microsoft Rewards points

Microsoft Rewards points do not have any cash value and can only be used on the Microsoft Rewards Redeem page. Try these tips to get the most out of your rewards:

  • Remember that 1,000 points are roughly equivalent to $1.
  • If you plan to purchase Microsoft gift cards, earning more points unlocks discounts on these cards. For example, a $5 gift card can be earned with 5,000 points, but you can claim a $100 gift card for about 91,000 points. That’s nearly a 10% discount!
  • If you reach Microsoft Rewards Level 2, you earn more perks, like access to exclusive sales and member-only discounts. Level 2 members can earn five times more points when searching on Bing!
  • You also get a discount when redeeming your points with Microsoft brands, which can add up to serious savings!

If you’re already using Microsoft Edge, Bing, and Xbox Live, it makes sense to join Microsoft Rewards. You’ll earn points just for completing web searches, playing games, and doing the things you already do online. If you’re not using it yet, you can start collecting points today when you try Microsoft Edge.
