  1. Pouring your pancake batter without making a mess.
Making pancakes can be a mess. Every time you pour the batter onto the pan, a little bit sticks to the rim of the bowl, and you end up with the batter dripping onto the countertop. You can avoid this by using an old ketchup bottle to pour pancake batter. Not only do you get a clean pour, but you can also portion the pancake batter to get perfectly round and consistently sized pancakes.
  2. Cleaning your shower head without killing your shoulders.
If you have hard water, your showerhead is going to accumulate mineral deposits that mess with the water flow of your shower. You no longer have to take the showerhead off and soak it or hold your arms above your head. Instead, twist-tie a bag of vinegar to the showerhead. Let the vinegar do the hard work of breaking down the mineral deposits, then all you have to do is turn the water on, and it’ll rinse the residue away.
  3. Carrying all your groceries in one trip.
Whether you live in a house or high rise, taking more than one or two trips is a pain when bringing groceries in from the car. Buy a carabiner clip from your local supermarket that’s big enough to fit your hand through it. Load up the carabiner with as many grocery bags as you can carry, and you can take more bags in one trip. You don’t need to worry about the weight capacity of the clip because the ones that fit your hand are plenty strong.
  4. Quickly testing batteries.
Are the remote batteries dead? Or is the remote itself dying? You can find out which is causing your remote problems by bouncing the batteries on a table from about six inches high. If they bounce once and then fall, they have juice. If they bounce around a lot, they’re dead or dying. This only works with single-cell cylindrical batteries, which are your typical AA, AAA, C, and D batteries.
  5. Never losing a business card again.
Two common problems people have when taking a business card are losing them and accumulating them in a pile on the desk. You can solve both problems by simply taking a picture of the card when you receive it. Then it’s easily accessible in your camera roll. Better yet, you can scan it into a handy note-taking app so you can track and organize you contacts, without taking up space on your phone or in your wallet.

  1. Getting one more use out of sticky notes.
Don’t throw sticky notes away without getting one final use out of them. Hold the paper with the sticky side down and run it through the keys on your keyboard. You’ll easily clean out dust that’s built up inside without spraying it everywhere using canned air. Throw away the sticky note without making a mess. Want to go paper free? Try an easy-to-use sticky note app!

  2. Keeping wrapping paper rolled up.
Whether you’re wrapping gifts for birthdays or holidays, unraveling wrapping paper is a huge nuisance. Keep those rolls tightly in place by cutting empty toilet paper rolls and sliding them onto the wrapping paper rolls. They’ll act as a cuff that makes storing your wrapping paper rolls much more manageable.

  3. Documenting who borrows items from you.
You’re not alone if you’ve ever let a neighbor or friend borrow something only to never get it back. Anytime you let somebody use something of yours (whether it’s a rake or a movie), take a picture of them with the item. You’ll never forget who has what. Delete the picture once they bring it back.
  4. Using a can opener to open more than cans.
Items like electronics come in hard plastic blister cases that don’t always open the way you’d like. You can often use scissors cut it open, but sometimes the package returns the favor and cuts a finger. Use a can opener to cleanly take off the edges. The packaging will fall right open once you’ve gone around enough sides.
  5. Cleaning your blender hands-free.
One of the more difficult appliances to clean in your kitchen is probably the blender. You don’t have to scrub the sides or blades by hand. Have the blender do the work for you. Put some soap and water into the blender, turn it on for a few seconds, then rinse. This simple process cleans the container, blades, and lid without scrubbing by hand.

Save time and make your life easier with these 10 life hacks for your home. Of course, there are thousands of other life hacks you can use, so keep an eye out and share them with your friends.
