When should I use my school email vs personal email?

Some of you may be getting Copilot through your school. We encourage you to log in with your school email when working on related work and when dealing with sensitive information. However, we think that there’s more to using Copilot than just using it through school, for your schoolwork. By signing up with your personal email address, you get a different set of experiences as a result. This is something that you can continue using after you graduate.

Where does Copilot pull information from and how updated is the information?

Copilot pulls from live internet data, using the Bing search engine to ground its results. Information that is currently available to Copilot on the internet is used to inform the answers provided.

How accurate are Copilot answers?

We strive for Copilot to give as accurate responses as possible. That’s why we ground our responses in live data pulled from the Bing search engine. We include citations of those sources where appropriate in our responses. We recognize that generative AI is still an emerging technology, and answers are not 100% accurate, but we are striving each day to ensure that responses are the highest quality possible.
