Word travels fast that Miles Daley (Chris O’Dowd) has been released from prison. And depending who you ask, feelings are mixed. Louis (Sean Bridgers) is stoked to have his buddy back on the outside. April (Megan Stevenson), however, finds herself flustered by the news. Meanwhile, Emma (Carolyn Dodd) is keen to establish a new relationship with her dad.
But no one is as shaken by the news of Miles’ release as Laurence Budd (Steven Weber). Especially when Miles shows up at Budd E. Boy Productions, unannounced and undetected by security.
Back from Guatemala, Rick Moreweather (Ray Romano) recounts the blissful life he and Amara (Lidia Porto) had been living in the Central American jungle. That is, until she was brutally killed. Although heartbroken, he has a sneaking suspicion he and Amara’s story could make a great movie.
Yago (Goya Robles) makes a case for his release to the parole board citing the high marks he got in his cosmetology courses in hopes returning to his life outside!

Police question Miles (Chris O’Dowd) at the halfway house after the discovery of his roommate’s body. Though Miles walks away from the inquisition unscathed, the news that Miles may once again be entangled in violence stokes Laurence’s (Steve Weber) growing suspicion.
Rick (Ray Romano) is visited by Agent Stevenson (Andrew Leeds) who explains that Rick’s script about Amara could get everyone into a lot of trouble. Rick promises to get back all twelve scripts he distributed… or was it thirteen?
Rick invites Miles, Louis (Sean Bridgers) and Yago (Goya Robles) to a mysterious meeting. Still angry at Rick for involving the Feds and sending Miles to prison, they’re reluctant to go. But Rick insists he needs to talk to them about a “certain someone”. With curiosity getting the best of them, they agree to come.
Louis and April (Megan Stevenson) convene at Budd E. Boy for a meeting about “Wylderness 2,” both still baffled as to why Miles is working there, as an assistant no less.

During a visit to the halfway house, Emma (Carolyn Dodd) asks Miles (Chris O’Dowd) to help her friend who’s found himself in trouble with a merciless and universally feared gang. Meanwhile, Yago (Goya Robles) tries to prove his worth to Capotillo with a unique idea. In spite of his insecurities, Rick (Ray Romano) decides to give his script to his famous film-producer dad (Peter Bogdanovich) for advice and gets an unexpected response. And Louis (Sean Bridgers) has trouble adjusting to his new fast-paced work environment, fearing he may just be in over his head.

Miles (Chris O’Dowd) plants a call to Budd E. Boy Productions, implying an investigation into an HR complaint by the New York Times. Laurence (Steve Weber), fearing the ramifications of an investigation, agrees to let Miles help him.
Louis (Sean Bridgers) has a humiliating experience at work and contemplates his life choices.
April (Megan Stevenson) gets an offer from a women’s network who wants to buy her company and, while she and Judah (Patrick Sabongui) settle into their new place together, April has trouble shaking off her evening with Miles.
Ali (Michaela Watkins) obsesses over the upcoming Budd E. Boy costume party, dragging Miles along in her quest to win first place. And Yago (Goya Robles) ditches a job for Capotillo to attend a wild influencer party with Giulia (Seychelle Gabriel).

Miles (Chris O’Dowd) sets the final phase of his plan into action as he seeks revenge on Laurence Budd (Steven Weber). Acting as anonymous sources, Miles and Ed (Isaac Keyes) call major news outlets with information about the sexual harassment cases against Laurence. By the time Laurence wakes, the news has hit.
Louis (Sean Bridgers) pays a surprise visit to Gladys (Sarah Stiles) backstage at her play “Tootsie”. He breaks the news that he lost his job, but reassures her that he has another plan to make money. Though it may be unconventional.
Yago (Goya Robles) and Giulia (Seychelle Gabriel) are abruptly awoken by Capotillo gang members who storm their bedroom. Furious that they’ve been carelessly posting videos and photos on-line that may have seriously blown their cover, Queso (Luis Moncada) demands they delete their accounts. Now.
And Rick (Ray Romano) comes to the realization that Amara (Lidia Porto) may not be able to change her ways and gives her an ultimatum!

Detectives search Laurence Budd’s home after his apparent suicide. When they show up at Budd E. Boy Productions to interview employees, Miles (Chris O’Dowd) feels on edge.
Ali (Michaela Watkins) continues her campaign to become President of Budd E. Boy Productions in Laurence’s absence, but is less than convincing. Miles uses the audio recording from the night of the costume party against Ali and gets himself a hefty promotion to Senior VP – as well as job offers for Louis (Sean Bridgers) and April (Megan Stevenson).
Amara surprises Rick (Ray Romano) by showing up at his house, having taken a taxi to get there. Concerned that she’s behaving a little unusually, he suggests a vacation in the cabin to get away for a while. He leaves to get supplies, and when he returns, she is reading an earlier draft of his script… and she’s furious.

Miles (Chris O’Dowd) is questioned by Detective Mischka (Mike O’Malley) in connection with Laurence Budd’s (Steven Weber) death.
After his huge fight with Amara (Lidia Porto), Rick (Ray Romano) heads to his cabin in the woods. While on a hike, he crosses paths with Banana Girl (Heather Graham) who he thought Amara had taken out in an act of jealously. Happy to see her, they reconnect, and he join her for dinner with her “community.” Feeling accepted, Rick partakes in a ceremony at dinner but wakes the next morning to discover he has been branded!
After being questioned by police, April (Megan Stevenson) realizes Miles is not being completely honest with her. Unsure if this is a relationship she truly wants, she goes out of town to contemplate what she really wants. Meanwhile Miles and Louis (Sean Bridgers) try to negotiate a deal with Hector (Joe Minoso) that would provide significant profits for him through their productions.
