Due to their big winnings, plus the new speed-boat purchased by Roger and the addition to the Nelson household of certain priceless antiques (given by Jeannie's mother)....Tony and Roger are quite suspect in Captain Ross' investigation. They decide, with the help of a "magic chair" supplied by Jeannie, that Dr. Bellows and General Schaeffer will win at the next game. Marino and the mob pick up Roger and by threat-ening him, force him to promise to help Marino in winning at the game. There ensues a mad scramble for the magic chair as Roger doesn't have time to tell Tony of the turn of events. Finally, Marino is shown to be the card sharp with a little help from Jeannie in the form of a few cards she has up her sleeve....and Marino's.

Tony's Texas cousin, Arvel, is a con man. Roger knows it because the cowboy cousin just sold him a phony sapphire ring. Jeannie doesn't know it, but she is craftily led into assisting Arvel market "Cousin Tony's Texas Chili" with a picture of the unconsenting astronauts on the label. To speed distribution, Jeannie blinks a shelf full of the canned chili in each of the nearby markets, including NASA's supermarket . Everyone at the space center knows that astronauts aren't allowed to endorse commercial products. In trying to please her master, Jeannie doesn't realize that Tony, like the chili, will be "canned" if General Schaeffer discovers what's happened. Meanwhile, cousin Arvel is reaping profits from the counterfeit chili as the distributor. When Tony finally tracks down the source of the canning caper, he tries to retrieve all of the chili from nearby markets. Dr. Bellows wife, Amanda, beats Tony to the shelf and has to answer to the disgruntled doctor and General Schaeffer. With Jeannie at his side, still ignorant of the charges being made to her husband, and not knowing the meaning of the word they keep using -- "court martial" -- she is finally nudged into blinking the cans (all the evidence) away. Thus, when a carton of chili is placed on the table and the box is open, a whole blob of chili (but no cans) oozes out. The whole table is in a mess, but Tony just gets out of one.
