Following a hasty marriage proposal, Finch and Adrienne announce their engagement to the magazine's stunned staff. As Nina sets out to plan the wedding, Elliott suspects something is amiss. Suggesting that he's just jealous, Maya gives her blessing to the union and declares that Finch and Adrienne must really be in love. But after Adrienne is led to believe that she and Finch were once an item, Maya is the one who now suspects something's wrong just as Elliott decides to give his approval. As Maya and Finch square off over the wedding, Adrienne's boyfriend arrives to kill Finch. Struggling to conceal his identity, Finch then sets out to keep Adrienne from learning Brian is back. And while Adrienne is certain that her fiancée's odd behavior is due to Maya, Finch tries to head off a disaster by suggesting they get married at once. Meanwhile, as they consider taking part in a religious cult's mass wedding, Adrienne warns Maya to steer clear of Finch. And though Finch and Adrienne forgo the cult wedding, Elliott and Maya find themselves inadvertently getting married. Opting for something smaller, Finch and Adrienne head for a discreet New York City chapel. However, when Nina inadvertently tips him off to their whereabouts, Brian arrives to take Adrienne back. With Jack looking on, Finch urges the minister to hurry through the ceremony. And despite Brian's efforts to convince her otherwise, Adrienne chooses Finch.
