An independent black woman (Goldberg) conceived a child with the help of a sperm bank 18 years ago. When her now 18-year-old daughter (Nia Long - "Big Momma's House," "Boyz 'N the Hood") discovers the truth about her conception, she tracks down her anonymous father, and the whole family is stunned when she finds a buffoonish - and worse, white -- car dealer (Danson).
