Description
Cornwall - a small town with a huge cat problem. With no public funds for cat control, that job has fallen to cat rescuers like Mellissa Alepins and Mary Jane Proulx. Running Wild: The Cats of Cornwall follows them through the alleyways as they tirelessly trap, neuter and rescue cats, and fight city hall to take action. In economically depressed towns like Cornwall, there is no money to fix the problem. But the cost of inaction might prove to be even greater than fixing the problem now. Cats reproduce at an alarming rate. And feeding strays may be adding to a bigger problem. The impact outdoor cats have on the environment is staggering. They are now classified as an invasive species by Wildlife Ecologists like Dr. Elizabeth Gow and Dr. Bridget Stutchbury. With billions of animals killed by cats around the world, our planet's bio-diversity is on the line. This is a human-caused problem that requires a human fix.
