Based on the blockbuster movie, this animated series continues the high-spirited adventures of Willy the whale and his special friendship with Jesse, the brave young boy who set him free, as Willy and Jesse work together to save the ocean from deadly environmental threats. Featuring, among others, the voices of Paul Haddad (Babar) as Willy, a kindly killer whale; a young Kevin Zegers (Gossip Girl) as Einstein, a bottle-nosed dolphin; Alyson Court (X-Men) as Lucille the sea lion; and Zachary Bennet (Avonlea) as Jesse, the brave young boy with the gift for understanding the animals’ gab, the series begins when Jesse and his adoptive parents move to the coast and Jesse is given a job at the local wildlife rescue and research center. In today’s ecological climate, this animated series not only entertains, it educates youngsters about the hazards of environmental pollution via its villain, the Machine, who seeks to harm Willy as he pollutes and destroys the living creatures and ecosystems.
