Millions of Americans struggle with addiction. Most need help to stop. From compulsive gamblers to shopaholics to drug addicts, Intervention® profiles people whose dependencies or compulsive behaviors have brought them to a point of personal crisis and estranged them from their friends and loved ones. In this first season of the hit show, you’ll meet real people – honor students and college graduates, a White House intern, an athlete and a musician, mothers and sons – all who have lost themselves in addiction and are in grave danger of losing their lives as well. At the end of each episode, an addict will be confronted by family, friends and a professional interventionist in an often emotional encounter. There the addicts have a choice – go to treatment and get help or face exile and isolation from those who love them most.
