In season 5, Captain Janeway and her crew face many challenges. The Maquis/Starfleet crew have many encounters with the Borg, including former Borg drone Seven of Nine's return to the Collective, who hope that her knowledge of humanity will help them assimilate Earth in "Dark Frontier." It is not only the Borg who pose as threats to the crew, but also an alien race called the Hazari, who ambush their ship in "Think Tank." Later, Paris and Torres get married, but it's not a happy occasion for long when the crew starts to disintegrate on the molecular level shortly after in "Course: Oblivion." Finally, the season closes when Voyager comes to the aid another Federation starship abducted by the Caretaker in "Equinox, Part 1."
