Governance setting to control anonymous access to Dataverse data in Power Pages websites

We are happy to announce the launch of new governance setting in Power Pages that allows administrators to control anonymous access to Dataverse data in Power Pages websites for their tenant.

With multiple makers working on multiple websites in a tenant, administrators can now stay in control of how anonymous access is provided to Dataverse data in Power Pages, using the governance setting ‘Disable anonymous access’. This setting is available under Power Pages sites in Power Platform Admin Center.

With this setting, administrators can control anonymous access to Dataverse data in their websites at varying granularity –

i) Disable anonymous access in all sites
ii) Disable anonymous access only in specific sites
iii) Allow anonymous access only in specific sites
iv) Allow anonymous access in all sites

After administrators disable anonymous access in a website in their tenant, the makers see a notification banner in the Design Studio about the change and will be nudged to remove anonymous permissions that they may have configured on the Dataverse tables.

Also, after administrators disable anonymous access in a website in their tenant, the end users will not be able to access Dataverse data anonymously thereby securing organization data from any unauthorized access.
