The predoctoral program at MSR New England and New York City is designed to offer recent graduates research experience prior to pursuing a Ph.D. The program is offered in the following research areas: biomedical machine learning, sociotechnical systems, economics and computation, and computational social science.
As in many academic predoc programs at universities, predocs work one-on-one with researchers at Microsoft and their academic collaborators on research for peer-reviewed journals. Predocs also have the unique opportunity to participate in Microsoft’s interdisciplinary lab environment and explore work at the intersections of their field and other research areas within the labs while seeing how advances in research are being deployed to solve real-world problems.
