About

I am a Senior Researcher in the Systems Innovation (opens in new tab) Group. My research interests are broadly in machine learning, distributed computing, and information theory. My current focus is on efficient ML inference, and ML for large-scale computing systems. For the first I work on designing novel approaches to deploy large ML models under accuracy and latency constraints across Microsoft’s global computing infrastructure, while for the second I work on using ML to manage this infrastructure and ensure it can effectively meet the requirements of workloads from Microsoft’s large and ever-increasing customer base.

I completed my Ph.D in Electrical and Computer Engineering (opens in new tab) from Carnegie Mellon University where I was advised by Dr. Gauri Joshi (opens in new tab). My Ph.D research was recognized with a Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship (opens in new tab) in 2019 and a Best Paper Award (opens in new tab) at ACM SIGMETRICS 2020, and also featured as a Research Highlight (opens in new tab) in the Communications of ACM 2022 . Please visit my personal website (opens in new tab) to learn more about my life prior to joining Microsoft.
