About
I’m a principal scientist in the Gray Systems Lab (GSL), where we design novel database system technologies with a focus on transitioning the best ideas into Azure Data. My recent research focuses on designing, building, and improving the performance of large-scale data-intensive systems.
I received my Ph.D. and M.Sc. from the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science at the University of Washington. There my work focused on video analytics and video data management, especially for new and emerging subareas (e.g., VR/AR, deep learning, and large-scale multi-camera networks). Prior to this I received a B.Sc. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
