Kinshuk Sengupta is a tenured Data and Applied Science Leader. He is working with Microsoft as Senior Data and Applied Science Lead in the MI2 Org. He is responsible for leading the research agenda for developing machine learning features/solution and experimentation to enrich M365 user experience across 50+ different languages for products such as Outlook Search, Office Suite, Teams and M365 Stack. His work involves majorly building language models, large scale experimentation for optimizing content localisation and translation quality assessment. He is additionally working in the area of Responsible AI, solving problem like [gender, racial, demeaning, representational] bias in dataset and related impact on machine learning systems. Kinshuk is actively involved in Aether initiatives at Microsoft.
He has a decade of research and development experience with focus areas like explainable AI, automatic sentence generation, bias and fairness of machine learning algorithms and interdisciplinary research area investigating impact on Human cognitive behavioural aspects of interacting with AI systems. He holds a master’s in data science and Ph.D. in Machine Learning and Information Systems.
