À propos

Hello there, I’m Giorgio, a researcher in Cloud System Futures at Microsoft Research Cambridge. I like to combine fundamental sciences with machine learning to address real-world challenges.

An example is data storage: our society is producing data at an unprecedented rate. To meet future demands, we are crafting new storage technologies that are more efficient, cost-effective and eco-friendly.

Before joining Microsoft, I served as a data scientist for a bio-imaging group at Harvard Medical School. There, I developed deep learning models to automate the segmentation of 3D images of cells. Prior, during my postdoctoral fellowship at Oxford University, I demonstrated an innovative far-field super-resolution imaging technique based on deep learning and interference.

My academic journey started with a Ph.D. in Physics from Université de Paris in the field of quantum photonics, after a MSc degree in Physics Engineering in Politecnico di Milano and a MSc in NanoScience at Université Paris-Saclay.
