Hi! I am Ian Drosos, and I just joined the Calc Intelligence team here at Microsoft Research in Cambridge as a postdoc researcher. I am a human-computer interaction researcher who loves discovering how to alleviate user frustrations felt when doing programming or data analysis and help experts in these areas share their knowledge with novices. I am excited to continue that work here by enhancing spreadsheet programming to enable end-users. I obtained my PhD from UC San Diego in Cognitive Science, during which I worked as an intern with the PROSE team in Redmond to help data scientist perform data wrangling with program synthesis. Before graduate school, I was a full-stack software engineer (which was so frustrating I became an HCI researcher!).
