Electric vehicles (EVs) can be effectively integrated with the power grid through vehicle-to-grid (V2G). V2G has been proven to reduce the EV owner cost, support the power grid, and generate revenues for the EV owner. Due to regulatory and physical considerations, aggregators are necessary for EVs to participate in electricity markets. The aggregator combines the capacities of many EVs and bids their aggregated capacity into electricity markets. You will find out: – The future of the Electric Vehicles (cars, trucks and trains) – How many miles can Electric Vehicles go without recharging – Energy rebates for purchasing new EV – Cost trends for the next decade for EVs

Speaker Details

Dr. Sortomme is the IEEE Vice Chair PES Seattle Section, presently working as a power systems engineer at Altrom Grid developing new technology for EV (Electric Vehicles). He has worked at PSE, Wavetronix and University of Washington as an assistant professor. He graduated from the Brigham Young University in 2007 BSEE and 2011 University of Washington with a PhD EE.
