Introduction to Windows Phone Silverlight Programming

This talk is part of a lecture series associated with the Hawaii Intern XAPFest app building contest. While it is targeted to Interns interested in entering the contest, anyone wanting to learn about Windows Phone Silverlight programming is welcome to attend. In this talk, we will cover Silverlight and its capabilities and will discuss how it fits into the Windows Phone development architecture. We will cover XAML, controls, events, animations, and data binding. There will be demos throughout. Attendees are encouraged to BYOL (bring your own laptop) with the latest Windows Phone Developer Tools (http://create.msdn.com) installed so they can follow along.
Speaker Details
Ayman started his career as a Software Development Engineer in Test working on “Big” Windows. During his tenure, he worked on various consumer and IT pro diagnostic applications such as Resource Monitor, Task Manager and Perfmon. He shipped Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7.
Having passion for Mobile devices, Ayman joined the Windows Phone working as a Program Manager. There he owed various aspects of the developer story from diagnostics tools, build to runtime design of Silverlight. Ayman Shipped Windows Phone 7 and is currently working on the next release of the developer runtime.
