Informatica 365

About the association and the project idea:

EOS Romania Foundation has over fifteen years of experience in introducing and developing the use of new technologies both in the formal education system and in wider communities. Through its programs, the foundation aims to create and provide equal opportunities for young people and adults to acquire the skills and abilities necessary to use information and generate new knowledge, which is essential for participating in the development of an open, knowledge-based society.

The project Informatica 365, carried out under the program Alt Viitor funded by Microsoft Romania, aims to train teachers at a national level to teach a newly introduced subject in the secondary school curriculum starting from 2017 – Computer science and ICT.

The project Informatica 365 aims to support the initiative of the Ministry of National Education to introduce programming at an early stage of the educational cycle. Under the EOS project, secondary school teachers will have access to educational tools and resources to teach this subject by accrediting Minecraft for Education and Creative Programming through Games and Apps courses.

Over 3,300 teachers will be trained at national level, especially those in disadvantaged areas in small towns and rural areas. By the end of 2018, the project will also organize events to exchange experience and recognize the merits of the most active teachers in teaching the courses introduced through this program, as well as a competition for students - a Minecraft for Education championship.
