Detected by Microsoft Defender Antivirus

Aliases: No associated aliases

Summary

Microsoft Defender Antivirus detects and removes this threat.

This prevalent browser modifier launches the default web browser and visits several websites in a series of redirects. It is highly polymorphic, with thousands of distinct files identified within the first few hours of its initial discovery.

This browser modifier also configures Chrome so that the web browser allows desktop notifications from the visited sites.

The websites accessed by this browser modifier might be generating revenue through ad impressions.

Scanning with Microsoft Defender Antivirus or other Microsoft antimalware automatically removes threats as they are detected. However, many infections can leave remnant files and system changes. Updating your antimalware definitions and running a full scan might help address these remnant artifacts.
