Summary
Trojan:Win32/Punad.G trojan is an executable written in Visual Basic. Once installed it attempts to redirect the browser to pay-per-click sites using Internet Explorer, possibly generating hits for third party affiliates.
Trojan:Win32/Punad.G may place an uninstaller entry in Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs (Windows XP) or Control Panel>Programs>Uninstall a Program (Windows Vista and Windows 7). The entry name may be called "advertisement service". This uninstaller is unlikely to function, or remove the program's components from an affected computer, and hence should not be used.
To detect and remove this threat and other malicious software that may have been installed, run a full-system scan with an up-to-date antivirus product such as Microsoft Security Essentials, or the Microsoft Safety Scanner.
