This threat installs software without your consent. It also displays an ad for another software in its interface. If you click the ad, this threat immediately downloads and installs the software being advertised without your consent or control.

It uses any of the following software names:

  • Advance PC Care
  • Advanced-PCFixer
  • Advance System Care
  • CC Cleaner
  • Easy File Opener
  • File Opener Windows
  • PC-Speedup-Pro
  • Smart System Care
  • US System Care 

NOTE: The latest version of this threat has stopped installing the malware payload and we no longer detect new versions.

Use cloud protection 

Use cloud protection to help guard against the latest malware threats. It’s turned on by default for Microsoft Security Essentials and Microsoft Defender Antivirus for Windows 10. 

Go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Defender > Windows Defender Security Center > Virus & threat protection > Virus & threat protection settings and make sure that your Cloud-based Protection settings is turned On
