Summary

TrojanDownloader:Win32/Proflag.WE is a detection for a trojan downloader used by the threat actor Microsoft tracks as Canary Typhoon.

The trojan downloader’s primary functions are to download additional payloads, launch commands, and exfiltrate credentials.

Microsoft Defender Antivirus automatically removes threats as they are detected. However, many infections can leave remnant files and system changes. Updating your antimalware definitions and performing a full scan might help address these remnant artifacts.

As the malware is associated with advanced persistent threat (APT) attacks, remove the infected system from the network and perform a thorough investigation of the network for other compromised devices.
