Trickbot is a modular trojan that first appeared in 2016. Trickbot can perform a number of actions on the infected device, including:

  • Harvesting credentials
  • Downloading and executing additional malware on the infected device
  • Spreading throughout the network
  • Installing persistent backdoors on the infected device/network

Trickbot usually spreads through phishing campaigns that distribute emails with malicious attachments or links to malicious files. It constantly evolves and demonstrates increasingly sophisticated behavior.
