The IT infrastructure was completely in-house and which was getting difficult for the team to maintain. The legacy systems included on-premises infrastructure that had data storage restrictions and limitations on network bandwidth. This led to operational inefficiencies that became even more pronounced during the pandemic and led to increasing costs of operations. This prompted the company to evaluate moving to the cloud.
Microsoft Certified Gold partner Crescent Technologies assessed the challenges faced by TBi and recommended migration to Microsoft Azure for quicker and more effective processes.
It was the perfect choice for TBi since they were already using Microsoft Office 365 for seamless day-to-day activities. The migration process began in February 2022 and was successfully completed within a month which was a month earlier than the expected completion timeline. Moreover, they did not have any downtime and seamlessly moved from on-premises infrastructure to Azure cloud.
By opting for a cloud-based solution, the company benefited from increased agility and scalability. TBi has derived multiple benefits by adopting Microsoft Azure. They spend less time and effort on resource management, monitoring, and security as these aspects are taken care of by Azure. Due to high-speed connectivity and updated technology, backward integration is better, and end customers can complete their transactions quickly on a responsive web-based system. Additionally, corporate customers can manage their bookings on the portal more efficiently. It has also allowed the company to monitor and estimate IT costs which were not possible with the on-premises setup. As Azure provides Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) capabilities, the IT costs have gone down considerably.
