Currently, audio sources in Spanish and Korean can be translated to English, and audio in English can be translated to Spanish, Hindi, and Russian. We plan to support additional languages in the future.
Currently, real-time video translation works on specific websites - including YouTube. We plan to expand compatibility and offer more options for users in the future.
The translation is done completely on your device, meaning that no data from the video leaves your machine. This means that no segment of the video or audio content ever exits the machine or is processed in the cloud.
There are many factors that affect how accurate the translation is, such as the background music, number of speakers, source language, etc. We are continuously working to improve the quality of translation. However, users should keep in mind that AI generated content may have errors.
Your device must have at least 12 GB of RAM and at least 4 core CPU in order for real-time video translation to function in Microsoft Edge
Currently, real-time video translation is available in select markets with plans to expand further.
