About

John is an experimental physicist working on implementing topological qubits in condensed matter systems. Prior to joining the Microsoft quantum team he was a post-doctoral researcher in Leo Kouwenhoven’s group at TU Delft where he investigated transport signatures of Majorana zero modes and the impact of quasiparticle poisoning on mesoscopic superconducting devices. He did his Ph.D. work under Michael Manfra at Purdue University where he focused on improving the MBE growth of two-dimensional electron gases and employing them as a platform for topologically non-trivial fractional quantum Hall states.
