They can also stop you from closing your web browser, using the address bar, or pressing any shortcut keys.
You can be infected with this threat when you visit or are redirected to a malicious website.

- Microsoft Defender Antivirus for Windows 10 and Windows 8.1, or Microsoft Security Essentials for Windows 7 and Windows Vista

Close your browser with Task Manager
You can regain control of your web browser by closing it using the Task Manager.
When you reopen your browser, make sure you don't click 'restore previous session'.
