Sang Ho Yoon is a researcher in the Applied Sciences Group at Microsoft.  His research interests include human-computer interaction, sensors, wearables, and novel interfaces.  He is particularly interested in promoting natural human-computer interactions through innovative sensing techniques for existing as well as futuristic devices andinterfaces.

Before Microsoft, he received his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Purdue University in 2017 and a B.S. and M.S. in mechanical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 2008.  During his Ph.D., his research focused on promoting natural human-computer interactions through hand-driven input devices and novel sensing techniques.  He has developed various tangible/soft concepts and prototypes for HCI.  Particularly, he developed multi-modal sensing textiles, soft sensors, and input devices using novel 3D magnetic sensing.  Sang Ho also spent five years as a researcher at LG Display and LG Electronics to develop futuristic consumer products such as personal robots and smart cars.
